-OUR STORY-
I’m Shaun, the son to Anglo Indian parents who were born in Madras India. I have had the privilege of eating authentic home cooked Indian food my entire life. I’ve been lucky to been passed on recipes that have crossed through generations and developed over time amongst local Indian communities.
-WHAT IS TIKKA?-
Tikka are small bite sized pieces of meat or cheese and a staple in Punjab. Its origin traces back 5000 years ago and are said to have been the request of an emperor who was terrified of choking on bones. He ordered his Punjabi chefs to cut his chicken off the bone before cooking in the tandoor and so ‘Chicken Tikka’ was born.
-OUR AMBITION-
Our ambition is to share local Indian flavours through signature Tikka dishes that are healthy, fresh and delightful. Whilst there are many Indian restaurants across the UK, most are common in flavour and outdated.
At Tikkarito, we serve Indian food that’s bursting with flavour yet simple, fresh and authentic. The ingredients we use and methods of cooking means that Indian food can be enjoyed by everyone!
